Allergies…it's increasing prevalence in the US alone affects at least 15 million people and sends someone to the ER every three minutes.* Allergies tend to bring up images of life saving medicines and postings of NUT FREE ZONES. It is becoming a way of life to truly make room for awareness of what it means to have allergies and how to keep our family with life threatening allergies safe. It is out of this necessity Allergy Easy Living was born.
Our family consists of two beautiful, young children that have lived with allergies all of their lives. As parents to these two, we have had to educate ourselves as much as possible to keep them safe and thriving in this world. Normalcy is something we strive for yet have had to rewrite what it means for us. We had to let go of the way we thought life was going to be for us with children.
Birthday parties, eating at restaurants, visiting movie theaters, get-togethers with family and friends, recreational activities, every kind of social interaction you can think of had to be scrutinized. We visited with many doctors to begin building a support team to understand what we were dealing with and how. We had to, and still do, educate family, friends, neighbors, and other local businesses on the importance of including safety measures for those with food allergies and how to include our children when there didn’t seem like a way.
Our lives have been dedicated to learning as much as we can on allergies and it is time that we begin sharing our experiences and how-to's for the growing population that needs this information. We want nothing more than to help anyone in the same boat as us.
You'll be able to get first hand information on fast and easy treats, what to expect at the allergist office, what to pack in an emergency kit, as well as tips for everyday living with allergies. As it's been helpful to our family, we will also share what food products can be healing for people with allergies and sensitives and how essential oils, yoga, and homeopathic remedies have had a hand in our lives.
For anyone caring for a small child or know of anyone suffering from allergies, this site is for you. To the person scouring the internet for recipes that do not include any of the top allergens, we will have you covered. To the parent who is frightened about having to travel with a food allergic child, we hope our travel tips will put you at ease.
To you, our reader, whoever you may be and wherever you are, it is our hope we can offer information that will help take away some pain you may have and bring you joy. That may be a tall order but we are committed in such a way as we have felt the fear, isolation, and anguish living with allergies tends to bring.
We invite you on our journey of living, thriving, and loving life alongside allergies.
